We are a friendly bridge club which plays duplicate bridge every Monday evening, using computer-dealt boards. Please note that, due to space restrictions, our membership has been 'capped', and visitors may only play five times in a calendar year. If you would like to play as a visitor, please contact our Secretary (details below) in the first instance. We are affiliated to the English Bridge Union. Our venue is the Maison Française, North Oxford. (For classes see Oxford Bridge Learning).
Please aim to arrive at 7.15 p.m. for a 7.30 p.m. start. Session fees: £2.50 for members (£3.50 non-members), including tea/coffee/biscuits. We have a host system, so you can arrive without a pre-arranged partner. Play usually finishes around 10.30 -10.40 p.m. EBU master points are awarded to pairs finishing in the top third and are direct credited to the EBU
**The BGB Summer Sim Pairs event will take place at Summertown on Monday, 27th July. The table money will be £5.00 for members and £6.00 for guests. Please come along & have a good evening.**

**Congratulations to John Cecil, playing with visitor Moira Pavelin, on winning our heat of the OBA Simultaneous Pairs on Monday 27th April. Countywide Results **
**Sadly, Summertown "B" lost their last match of the season against Bicester by the unhappy margin of 1-19 VPs on Thursday 30th April. Everything hung on the result of this match. If they had won by a similar margin, they would have been promoted to Division II next year, but as it is they finish in 7th place in Division III and will be going down to Division IV. Match Report.**
**Summertown "A" played their final match of the season on Thursday, 16 April and, after a hard fought match against Blewbury "A", they drew the match 10 - 10 VPs. Unfortunately, they cannot now be promoted but finish the season in a decent third place. Match report.**
**With all matches having now been played in Division V, it looks like our C Team are on an equal number of points in second with Witney. However, since our team won the head-to-head with Witney, this should mean they finish in second place and are promoted to Division IV next season (subject to confirmation). Match report.**
**Summertown Members' Masterpoint Successes in 2008.**
Our boards are usually pre-dealt and should not be shuffled and dealt at the table. Hand records are available at the end of the session.
To ensure that there is a host each week, members are asked to act as host in rotation, about once every 18 months. Members should make a note of the day they are due to host - see Host List.
We have three teams in the Wessex League (two in Division III, and one in Division V), and we take part in various Simultaneous Pairs and other events.
Club results are usually uploaded late the same evening. Visit the Results page and click on the appropriate date.
We are very grateful to those members of the Club who freely give of their time to score and direct each week - Director's Roster; Scorer's Roster.
We have an Internet mailing list for club members with email to receive news about results, forthcoming events, etc. Contact Sandra or Krys for details.
